How long have you been working at Somas?

8 years, starting in October 2015.

How did you come to work here?

I grew up in Säffle and spent a lot of time at the ice-skating rink “Somas-hallen” with my hockey teammates in my youth. Because of this, I’ve always been aware of the company’s existence. I was contacted by Somas and became interested once I found out more about the way the company works, their products, their organisation and history. I had previously I worked at a company located on Hammarö in Karlstad, focusing on sales to customers in the process industry in Sweden. It felt exciting to be given the opportunity to work with the same type of clientele, but with new products and a company that does all manufacturing themselves.

What is a “typical” working day like for you?

Working with enquiries, projects and quotations to our customers by phone, email and through customer visits.

What’s the best thing about your job?

The best part of my job is the varying assignments that involve a lot of customer interactions.
The diversity that comes with spending some days in the office and others out and about meeting customers on location makes my job both challenging and fun.

What’s the biggest challenge with your job?

Having the time to familiarise myself with our customers’ processes and to understand their needs, in order to provide the best support and solutions.

Is there anything in particular you have done or been involved in at Somas that stands out even more?

Updating and developing a valve adapted for liquor applications.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

Getting involved in my children’s activities, both as a leader and a supporter.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to work in your industry?
